So first things first, I've become a bit more committed to the notion of producing a Star Wars Fan Film and I might even have all the kinks worked out. But that's for another blog post. In the meantime I've been in the market for a X-Wing, used, but with a lot of love. Perhaps with only one or two previous owners.

I was lucky to find "Mister X" supplied a very beautiful X-Wing model over at SciFi3D but without any texture maps applied. A pitty seeings as how beautiful his modeling was. But, it has provided me with an opportunity to put my own mark on the model.

I've taken the liberty to match a lot of the markings to that of the infamous Luke Skywalker X-Wing model. Though to be honest, I may change some of the markings on the wings. I really want to capture the feeling of old school Star Wars, but make it my own at the same time.

I'm sure no one will see them in the shots I have planned, but I'm thinking I may add some 'kill count' decals such as a couple TIE Fighters. I was also considering modifying the wing colors to make a curved shape- perhaps incorporating something like the Rebel Alliance logo perhaps. My fear is of course, it'll take on too modern of a look.

I took the time to paint the R2 unit Red as well, though that may change in time. It's gone through about 10 different coats of paint and I haven't been super satisfied with any of them.  Tonight I'll be working on the engines and the finish off the wings. After that, I think it's only a few scuffs away from being finished.

I could go into a lot of detail on this model, but the truth is it'll be whizzing by so fast there's almost no point. No one but perhaps me will even know of the work put into it!
